About the role:

OfferUp is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist who is passionate about customer service and process improvement to help our finance team support OfferUp’s business growth. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will partner internally and cross-functionally with sales and other departments to drive collections, customer payment-related inquiries and adjustments as needed, drive automation via system enhancements and help with new business initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable including accuracy, aging monitoring, and the collections and resolution of all balances. 
  • Drive for process standardization and improvement to scale the current process.
  • Maintain a current accounts receivable aging report with a clear path to aged items
  • Responsible for periodic reporting to Sales and Finance leadership on past due balances
  • Oversee customer communication concerning balances due, refunds, and other account inquiries 
  • Manage the failed payment process, system changes, and chargeback disputes
  • Assist sales teams and management in streamlining policies and procedures
  • Identify root causes of errors; suggest and implement correcting procedures.
  • Provide support with accounts receivable reconciliations during month-end close and audits
  • Work closely with our billing system owner and help to drive the billing system to reflect cross-functional requirements (from sales, Accounting, operations, among others)
  • Other related duties or projects as needed meet the ongoing needs of the organization

  • Have intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
