As 2025 unfolds amid economic uncertainty, I want to thank you for supporting OfferUp and showing up for your local communities. In moments like this, local connection and practical support feel more important than ever. That’s why today, we’re proud to announce the launch of a new brand campaign, Discover Life Outside the Box, rolling out across TV, radio, and digital channels in select markets. At its core, this campaign celebrates the everyday magic of local exchange and reflects what we’ve always believed: the best things in life are discovered, exchanged, and shared right where we are.

Over the past decade, OfferUp has evolved from a simple app for buying and selling secondhand items to a broader platform ready to power local life. Millions now use it to find everything from furniture and cars to jobs, housing, and services - right in their own communities. As we expand what we offer to meet new demand, we’re proud to support not only individual buyers and sellers, but also the local employers, service providers, and small businesses that help us power our marketplace at scale.

Our own evolution mirrors what we believe to be a larger cultural shift. The circular economy is no longer niche; conscious consumption is mainstream, and local commerce and connection are the heart of it. According to our 2024 Recommerce Report, 63% of users formed a meaningful connection through an in-person exchange, and 82% now consider secondhand before buying new.

OfferUp is proud to be a leader in this movement. We were early to recognize the value of resale, early to invest in marketplace trust and safety, and early to build a platform designed specifically for person-to-person exchange. Now, as more people seek alternatives to the status quo - whether for economic, environmental, or lifestyle reasons - we’re uniquely positioned to serve them.

The Discover Life Outside the Box campaign is a celebration of this core purpose. It’s our invitation to discover a world of local opportunity and reimagine what’s possible when we reconnect with what’s around us.
